Tummies, get ready to rumble!
1. Cibo's Penne al Telefono. Penne al dente topped with a creamy, gooey sauce of mozzarella, parmesan, crushed tomatoes, cream, olive oil and herbs, with a side of crunchy, chewy, oily bread. *Heaven*
2. Cebuano lechon. Why? WHY NOT?
3. Far Eastern Mooncake Restaurant's Bola-bola Congee. Imagine a bowl with raw egg at the bottom, topped with a generous serving of congee with tasty, moist meatballs, and sprinkled with crispy, oily flour chips. When the chips melt into the hot congee yet still maintain a bit of their crunch and you get a bite of it, you'll know what I mean.
4. Balut and pork isaw and chicharon with a bit of laman. If you're Pinoy and not too health-conscious, and you don't like these offerings... WHY THE HELL NOT?
5. Salmon belly sashimi. The creamy orange fish with the perfectly matched wasabi and soy sauce (Show me, show you, Kikkoman, kikkoman! If you don't get it, see the video here). If I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life, this would be it.
I think I can safely declare that food's my only vice. Food and drink, of course ;) I love food. Truly, madly, deeply. Some more than others.
Happy eating, everyone! :D
