I loved Jason Statham on The Italian Job and Transporter 1 and 2. What's not to like about a guy with a smooth every-day guy charm, wits you just don't learn in school AND killer skills in driving?
Statham was an Olympic diver on the British National Diving Team, finished 12th in the World Championships in 1992 and was also a fashion model and black market wheeler-dealer before he launched his acting career. He transitioned from diver to driver quite smoothly, in my opinion. Talk about not needing a stunt double!
